Recommended Reading: Chronicles of Froissart, Life and Campaigns of the Black Prince by Richard Barber (contains a translation of the Chandos Herald)

A memorial to John Chandos is on the D25 just south of the N147 and west of Lussac-les-Châteaux
The Royal Armouries collection has the "Chandos" helm, this may be associated with Herefordshire as it is thought to have been made for Pembridge's contemporary, Sir John Chandos of Snodhill Castle.

Chandos has appeared in several mediums of modern media: in the 1955 Errol Flynn film “The Dark Avenger” also known as The Warriors”, in the video game called bladestorm where he acts as an advisor to the Black Prince and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has two books with Chandos as a recurring character; The Whyte Company and Sir Nigel.

Just got back from World Invitational Joust 2008:
Tournament of the Phoenix. Pretty cool. Unfortunately, I arrived as the jousting portion was finishing up and I didn't get to watch much of it. I did see a lance shatter from a distance, however. I stayed for the Melee and was not disappointed. Teams of three beating the crap out of each other with hard wooden staves in full armor on horse back. Awesome! Luke Binks was the 3rd or fourth guy out and he had a few words with the judge. (He was robbed!) Took a little video with the compact digital which really doesn't do justice to the battle. Hope there is a professional video of the event forthcoming. I'd be happy to forward the brief clips I got to anyone who is interested. Can't wait for the next event.
