Happy New Year!

To the fans and friends of the whole Sir Justyn, ATM, EdC teams, Happy New Year.

2010 was huge but 2011 will be even bigger and I have some exciting plans and work coming up this year. It is not just my intention, loyal readers and listeners, but my duty to include you all in the news and goings on unlike the year just past.

So lift your cups, goblets, tankards and jugs and here is to the passing of another year and the challenges of a new one! Wassail!

Medieval Computer Skills

I'm not the greatest computery person. No really, I'm not. I might not be the worst, actually I know I'm not the worst and certainly have some very basic and rudimentary skills; I did create my own web site from the ground up for example and sometimes even managed a podcast or two back in the day. The whole blog thing however, I missed the induction day for that one. Good news is though, I know where my short comings are (the evident ones at least!) and I'm fixing them. I intend of blogging a whole lot more now that I understand the purpose of it a bit more. There is other good news.

The All Things Medieval podcast is coming back.

The next episode is scheduled for January 2011 and every month there after as a minimum. I have sorted some things out in regards to making the job easier and will be again committing time to the show. It's been a long time but I am really looking forward to making a grand come back. I hope you'll join me. To accompany the return of the show I'll be setting up a few other things to go along with it, primarily networking stuff and either a new set of forums or at least a mended old forum after it's many woundings from hordes of spammers.

I look forward to a new year with you all and as always welcome suggestions, comments and greetings. Chat with you again soon!

The Abbey Medieval Festival has been and gone for 2010 and now I can get onto other things including podcasting! If you have never been to this event and you live in Australia and have a love of the Middle Ages, you really need to get yourself to this event. It is the biggest and best event of it's kind in Australia regardless what you hear from other lesser shows. Of course Sir Justyn was present with his falconers, hounds, knights, archers, gonners, squires and ladies and will be again next year.

Anyone Still Waiting?

If you are still waiting and by the saints you have the patience of Mother Teresa if you are, there will be more podcasts forthcoming. I have not madce the podcast a priority for the last 12 months or more but I am keen to get back into recording and soon! In the meantime here is a pic of Dr Ian Mortimer and I in Cornwall at a presentation and lecture hosted by Katrina Wood from Kats Hats. Dr Mortimer is the author of The Perfect King and The Time Travellers Guide to Medieval England among other titles.

Sir Justyn in the UK and the next Podcast

It has been a long time. Too long. When I set out to do this podcast it was my honest intention to put one out once every month and then eventually once a week. Epic fail. I have no excuse this time around either. I've just not dedicated time to doing the show. I feel so ashamed.....

I'd like to say that I'll make it up to you, loyal fans and listeners but that too would likely be an epic fail!

In saying that, there is another episode that is done and has been for a while. I just have to give it an edit and upload etc, etc. I expect to have this done in the next week or two. After that I need to knuckle down and work out a way to research, record, edit and post in a quick, convenient and most importantly, consistent manner. Something that I think will help speed up the process are more interviews. And do I have some plans for those!

In March, I'll be touring the UK and France doing some lectures and displays (more details to follow) and during the course of this grand emprise I'll be speaking with some really interesting folk. I'll be recording some of these conversations for your listening pleasure. I'll also be visiting the blog regularly with updates, pictures and other fun stuff. I'd love to hear from listeners who might be interested in meeting somewhere while I am visiting. Maybe we can share a pint or a cuppa!

You'd Believe Anything......

That is, if you believed my last post. Clearly when I said I'd have another episode out soon, what I meant was I was too busy with work and that my wife who is carrying twins (I told you that right? Yeah of course I did...) needs some attention due to some difficulties she is facing, therefore meaning I'd not get another episode out soon, as prmoised.(again)

Hark! Faithful listener and be not despondent in my prolonged and unseeming absence I will return with another episode in the future.

Oh, and just ignore the title of the post O.K?
